Our stress testing capabilities just aren't anywhere close to truly ensuring what will be stable anymore, hell we were struggling with CPUs without boost, EIST, Speedshift or even C states. CPUs were fine to overclock before boost, EIST and other things, but nowadays it's not worth doing that and now on top of various boost states, chips also have P and E cores, that's just makes overclocking dead to me. I can say right now that my gpu is quite limited already on core, even at 1.1v and 520w it freezes if i go around 3050/3100 mhz. After weeks or months i can set a line of stability and after that i will try to increase or decrease clocks and voltages. I frankly just gave up on it, because instability was random, no software can really detect it, all RAM testing software has been absolute garbage that purpose and even if you end up with "stable" settings after week your computer may still randomly crash. I’m testing it in bf2042 and other games, rdr2, with and without dlss. I personally had the worst experience with RAM overclocking/undervolting. And back then cards like 650 Ti didn't even have any dynamic boost, so it just ran at fixed speed during gaming. I've used it for both an Intel and an AMD system, and it showed instability when applications like Cinebench and Prime95 seemed fine. I used to own a weird GTX 650 Ti, which was stable in Unigine benches, also stable in games, but for some reason started to crash in GTA 5 for a a while, but then at same settings it ran GTA 5 perfectly fine for hours with even higher clocks and same volts. It lets you test both all-core and individual core stability and is quite effective for it. As a reference, my 3060 Ti is running a 950 mV UV at a 1980 MHz graphics/8000 MHz memory OC while drawing 165 W (peak before UV was 215 W) at 68 C (peak was 78. If you’ve got a bad card, you’re going to be able to UV but not OC much. Sometiems it's that easy, other times not so much. Low usage benchmarks like Cinebench also offer limited usability because there is nowhere near enough stress on the components. If you’ve got a good card, you can OC 20-30 above the reference card speeds on a moderate UV.
